welcome...
A traditional 15th Century Coaching Inn, The Star presents all the period charm associated with a property heralding from Tudor England and retains a wealth of historic features that include the original staircase. The frontage of the building was modernised in the Victorian era, though its original purpose of welcoming weary travelers and providing a place to rest, eat and drink has remained through the years; though these days The Star welcomes a few less highwayman than when first built.
The Star is situated in one of the country’s finest Georgian Streets, with rolling gardens that lead down to the River Avon. The Inn is an inviting place to moor for those navigating the Avon ring, and with a well-kept slipway, is perfect for canoes and small craft. It’s an ideal base for site seeing or to enjoy the wonderful country walks, fishing and golf that’s on offer nearby.
Simply beautiful throughout the seasons, you have the option to relax by a warming coal fire whilst enjoying the rustic English menu and fine selection of Real Ales, or unwinding in the riverside gardens, making a visit to The Star most pleasurable whatever the great British weather has to offer.
We look forward to welcoming you
